Together We Learn

Time and Tide Museum

The Sparrows and Robins had a swashbuckling adventure at the Time and Tide Museum.  Dressed as buccaneers, they sailed the high seas towards Great Yarmouth, and had a fun-filled day learning about all things piratical.  Shiver me timbers!!!

Kentwell Tudor Recreation

On one of the warmest days on record in June, Years 5 and 6 were transported back to the year 1553 to find out about life in Tudor England.

The children got to grips with old English language and have learnt an awful lot about Tudor arts, crafts and everyday life. Thank you so much to all the staff for taking them: Mrs Firman, Ms Hewitt, Mrs Winter, Ms Peers, Mrs Knight and Miss Goidchild.

Wonderdome

In June, we were extremely excited to welcome the Wonderdome Planetarium to our Federation.

This provided a fantastic opportunity for all children to learn about the Solar System in an immersive and engaging way.

This special event was funded through a generous donation from Scottish Power Renewables, and we are very grateful for their support.

The children loved the experience, with Robin Class reporting that they had ‘flown to the moon’ and ‘been into space to see the planets!’

Goldfinch Class Visit High Ash Farm

Goldfinch Class have visited High Ash Farm with Mr Walker and Mrs Frost to learn about the farm animals and machinery. We’ve also explored the habitats and learnt about some of the wild animals and mini beasts who live there.

Visit to Old Hall farm

Year 1 and Reception from Preston and Saxlingham have had a lovely visit to Old Hall Farm where we have watched the cows being milked, and met sheep, goats, chickens and Suffolk Punch horses. What a lot of fantastic farming facts we have learnt! Many thanks to all the staff for taking the children and to Old Hall Farm for welcoming us.

Visit from English Touring Opera

All Key Stage 2 Classes were treated to a musical extravaganza courtesy of the English Touring Opera.  We had all practised songs for the performance of Ada and the Code Crusader so that there could be audience participation.  Staff and pupils have all  reported that the performance was engaging and thoroughly enjoyable, and we are so grateful to FOPPS and FOSS for supporting this event.

British Science Week

World Book Day 2026

In February, we participated in NSPCC Number Day.   We worked in vertical groupings (YR-6) on maths-focused activities and had lots of fun.

The children look amazing ‘dressed for digits’ and some of our children battled against children from other schools in a Times Tables Rockstars Challenge.

We also raised £95 for NSPCC.

Kickstart Girls' Football

Tag Rugby Festival

Well done to the children who participated in the Tag Rugby Festival, where they were introduced to game play and rugby skills. The groups showed great teamwork and the improvement in each game was amazing. Congratulations to Ollie and Ethan! Their teammates nominated them to receive the ‘teamwork award’ for their team spirit. Thank you to Mrs Newson and Miss Walker for taking the children.

Links with other schools

We have made links with Xet̓ólacw Community School, a pre-K to Grade 12 facility in Mount Currie, British Columbia, Canada.  The school provides a positive and empowering learning environment where Líl̓wat culture, language and values are taught and celebrated alongside the academic curriculum.

Swift Class have been exchanging letters with the children in Grade 6.  We are really excited to be able to share information about our community in Tasburgh and to be able to find out about living in a contrasting community in a very different part of the world.
