Together We Achieve

Year 5/6 Residential to Bawdsey, March 2024

In March 2024, together with our friends from Saxlingham, our Year 5 and Year 6 children took part in a fantastic 3-day residential trip to Bawdsey Manor in Suffolk.  Along with Mr Walker, Mrs Whitefoot, Miss Dignum, Mrs Winter and Mrs Newson, the children enjoyed some action-packed time away, challenging themselves to master new skills and conquer fears!  We enjoyed a range of activities including: the big swing, challenge course, problem solving, climbing, abseiling, archery and survival skills.  What a fantastic trip it was!

SOUTH NORFOLK CROSS COUNTRY

Cross Country at Langley School saw children from all over South Norfolk racing. Both Preston and Saxlingham children gave it their best, showing self belief and perseverance to conquer the course. We were very proud of all their outstanding achievements. Five of our pupils made it in the top ten which puts them through to the Norfolk Games Cross Country Finals on November 22nd. Thanks to Miss Dignum, Mrs Edwards, Mrs Whitefoot for their support.

Sports Activities 2022-2023

Tag Rugby Festival

A group of Year 5 and Year 6 children were invited to participate in a Tag Rugby Festival at Wymondham RFC, with children from both Saxlingham and Preston representing the Tas Valley Federation.

With an emphasis on developing new skills and good sportsmanship, we were very proud of everyone who took part.  The children were asked to nominate two children who had showed a particular effort and improvement through the day; they received a special certificate.  Well done to Henry (Saxlingham) and Kaitlyn (Preston).  Thank you to Mrs Newson and Mrs Edwards for taking the group.

South Norfolk Cross Country

Teams from Saxlingham and Preston both competed at the South Norfolk Schools Cross Country at Langley School. It was lovely to see so many children competing, with all competitors showing amazing commitment, resilience, and self-belief at conquering the course. It was a great team effort. Well done to everyone! A huge thank you to Mrs Newson for organising our team, and to Mrs Wood, Mrs Elliot and Mrs Grieve for supporting.
